So, I'll try to make this a brief as possible.  I built the tonepad version of the maestro fsh1, wasted days getting my fets oriented correctly, and had it working. While putting it in the case I knocked Q5 and Q6 out, and since i put them back in nothing works.  Here are my voltages, I've tried swapping out the ICs and fets and but I get absolutely no effect, just some sound dropping and iI can hear some ticking which makes me think the noise portion of the circuit is okay.  Any help would be more than appreciated.

I'm wondering if Q3 might be my problem as I don't see any drop across it.  And of course it was the only fet I didn't socket, but that can easily be changed.

According to the Tonepad layout, IC3 should be a dual opamp.  If you're really using a 741 in that spot, that could be part of the problem.

I've built this circuit and found it to be really finicky.  You might want to try different FETs in Q5 and Q6.  I'm using BF245As, but have also gotten results with 2N5457s and 2N5952s (as you've discovered, be careful with differing pinouts).  Definitely audition different NPN transistors, even of the same type.  I've tried multiple 2N3904s, and they are all over the place.  2N5088s work for some people, as do 2N2222As and BC337s.  I settled--pretty much by accident--on a BC109.     It's mostly subjective when it comes to that transistor.

good luck.
