Just a quick question, i'm going to build this from the GGG page.

The circuit specifies  a 9v input voltage, however I was wondering if there is any way to modify it to accept a +15v power supply, whilst still maintaining the 9v bipolar output?
I guess I could just rectify the 15v down to 9v first, but is there a more elegant solution?

What's inelegant about using a 9v regulator?

I don't like unecessary components.
Given that the MAX1044 will give me +9v and -9v simultaneously, having a 9v source on board seems like a waste that's all.

The 1044 gives you the -9V. The +9V is the 9V source - no IC magic needed for that!

Will your circuit work on +/-7.5V if you split the 15V?
