3pdt problem - could it be the 4 lugged input jack?

Built a Fuzz face, circuit works fine with mono jacks.

I have tried about 2 or 3 3pdt wiring schemes for true bypass with led and i can't get sound. Led works though.

The stereo jack I am using for input apparently is switched and has 4 lugs. The 4th is connected to the Tip of the jack. I have tried to bridge the lug to the tip and it still did not work.

Have retested the circuit with mono jacks and it still works.

Keen to get it ready for my gig tommorow :)

Any help appreciated.

if you use your continuity tester on your multimeter you can trace out and see where things are getting lost. i am suspicious that you may have picked the wrong lug on your fancy jack. most likely a switched jack and you have hotted to ground right at the tip.

your signal is either lost or grounding out. start at the input and follow it around.

Thanks, have a dmm and will read how to use it to do that.

Have grounded on the lug connected to the middle ring at the top and have in and out jack sleeves connected to each other to another lead going to ground on circuit board.

Since the 4th lug is connected to tip - should I jumper the 4th lug to tip lug.

can't make out what you are saying without the whole wiring diagram. isolate the sections. test each by itself. signal routing follows logical path.

Fair enough mate, will test.
Thanks for the quick reply.

Ok checked the switch and it works properly.
I'm pretty sure I checked all lines for continuity and found none expect for when the effect is switched off there is none between in and out tip.
Sure it's just the the outboard wiring as circuit worked fine with mono jacks.

Led comes on when input jack is plugged in but still no sound.

Love to fix it.

Here's how I have the switch
  x    jumped
  -     -     -
  g    in    out
       tip    tip
  -     -      -
led  c-in  c-out
  -     -     -

pole marked led goes to led - . led+ goes to 2.2k then to 9v+
Ring goes to 9v-

What's going on!

If you post pics we can probably help more.

Found the problem. It was a blob of solder on the jack bridging ring to tip.
Fixed it 5 minutes before I had to leave for the gig and it rocked.

Thanks for the help guys. I want to build another.
