guitar/bass preamp into line in mixer ideas?....

hi guys:

i'm looking at building a simple clean preamp for guitar and bass to go into my mixer for recording purposes only...straight into a line in.

my bass sounds like a wet fish on a sunday straight in, and needs a good kick to get it up to a good record level........you know what i mean.....

i want it to be for both bass/guitar as i only play/record one at a time....i haven't developed 4 arms yet .....anything simple with a cap switch between bass/guitar i guess will do...

i'm not too bothered about eq as i'll sort that on the mixer.....any suggestions?...i'll do it on a spare bread as i go...cheers guys...

i have some toggle 3pdts too so i can true bypass it too...desktop style, not pedal...1590b size maybe...hmmm...

ive just been looking at this di box.....hmmm looks pretty good for a bass and guitar di'ing...

and best of all cheap as f....this may cure my bass woes anyway...
