Hello all! This is my first post, I'm excited to be a part of the site!

I have a project pedal I want to start working on right away. It's a vintage Russian green Sovtek/EHX Big Muff Pi pedal. I am wanting to mod/add a few things.... A power input (all it has for factory power is battery), true bypass, and a noise gate (adding a trimpot). Does anyone do stuff like that? If so, what would you charge? I'm new to the world of modding pedals so fogive me if my questions are stupid!   :icon_mrgreen:

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!

welcome to the forum.

There is TONS of info out there about your pedal.  Use the search function here.  You can find a schematic for your pedal will help a lot too, but keep in mind that there were MANY different versions of the BMP circuit, even in the same pedals, so schematics might only be a useful guide and not an exact source.

There's an article written called Technology of the Big Muff, it's very detailed and important to print off/read if you're modding a BMP.  I believe it's at Jack Orman's site.

Solder in sockets for your transistors, clipping diodes, and coupling caps.  It's very helpful when you're swapping parts so you don't have to keep soldering/unsoldering components.

Good luck and have fun.
