Phase45 with 4 stages... add bass???

Hi

I just finished my Phase45 phaser (with 4 instead of 2 stages) and some minor mods (like 5.1v zener)

the phaser sweep is awesome (2N5952 with 2,47Volts as VGS) but at low (medium to low) rate settings I hear some bass being boosted as the sweep goes through that frecuency

is this right?  is there a way to reduce it (or at least to have the same amount of bass as the original un-effected) signal?

Since there is no additional resonance in the P45, there should not be any sort of boosting anywhere.  There can appear to be too much bass when the notch is in certain parts of the spectrum, but that is not a matter of bass-boost.  It is a matter of mid-scoop.

I know that it could "appear" to have to much bass

but the sound of the phaser at every setting in the rate pot has the bass frecqs somehow louder than the sound with the effects off.

could this be a matter of the mixing part (which i dind't  change : its has two 10K resistors as output mixer)?

could this be decreaced with lower caps (10n instead of the 47n between stages)?

after further testing time:

changed the 10K resistor on the first feedback loop to test reducing the sound of the hole effect= with the 10K jumpered, the sound of the highs was reduced in a bad way... an bass was a little less than "no activated effect".

so after another values, got back to 10K where the highs were exactly loud as the "no activated effect" sound...  and bass is just a 1% louder or deeper...  so...  just a minor change...

I can live with that, as the sweep with a Phase45 with 4 stages is just awesome and blows every single Phase90 pedal.

Lowering the caps in teh phase shift stages will make the phasing happen at the bottom end of the spectrum, probably not desirable as you may not even hear it. Have you tried increasing the value of the 47nF output cap?

Guess you read it backwards as I was aiming to decrease some of the bass I had in excess  :icon_mrgreen:
