ROG English channel problem

Hi guys, I`ve just completed a rog english channel and hit a snag, after i populated the board i hooked it up to pots, power etc on my breadboard and it worked perfectly, now i`ve boxed it up and it still works...but, no distortion. The master pot still works fine, but only as a volume control...no gain. So i basically have 2 volume controls. I`ve changed the master pot, changed all the jfets and biased them again but still no joy. I`ve built quite a few pedals but never come across something like this. If possible i`d rather not have to take the board out completely as it took a good while for the off board wiring. The only change i have made to the original layout was to remove the 470pf cap and replace it with a dpdt switch with a 470pf cap on one end and a 47nf on the other (switch normal/brilliant channels) but as i mentioned, it worked perfectly before i boxed it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
