Modded 90s Russian Big Muff, cuts out when stomped on

I thought this would be the best forum to ask, though it's not expressly a DIY pedal, it is a Muff that's been heavily modded with a switch controlling the Creamy Dreamer mod, the transistor used for clipping, and a mid boost.

The Tone pot is a bit messed up so I blamed it at that at first - sometimes adjusting it will cause the sound to go on and off. However, I noticed this can happen with *all* the controls, but most especially when I stomp on it, and I need to kick it for it to reactivate.

I am pretty certain it tends to do this either only or more with Batteries. I just got it back from a guy who said he "fixed" it but it's still got the same problem, haven't had a chance to test it plugged in.

What could be wrong with it? Will I photograph the PCB?

Open it up, run signal through, and poke it with a chopstick. There's either a barely-connected or an almost-shorting connection, SOMEwhere, and this is probably the quickest way to find it.
