Nevermind y'all - my problem was with the Ruby part of the circuit (yes, the easiest part!!).  I had the output cap coupled to C6 output instead of C6 input - dumbass!!

So...it's working fine now.  I tried 12AX7, 12AU7, 12AT7, and 12AV7 - liked the 12AV7 best... I need to flip the gain wiring (oops) and figure out a good place to add a tone control...  Fun stuff... next, I want to work on a low voltage all tube amp (maybe using a 12AX7 as the output tube...dunno yet...).

From my original post:
Today, I tried the Ruby Tuby from this schematic: http://www.sopht.ca/schematics/ruby_tuby_1.jpeg

Here's my tube section layout (I built the power board and Ruby board seperately):

Mike,

Would you mind sharing some more information about this build?   :icon_wink:

If yes; I would like to try building this pedal as I have a tube that is a work alike of the 12AV7. I would hate to see a cool old tube just go to waste and I should have most other parts on hand. A schematic is all I would need. Thanks regardless.
