I bought a 3 pin on/off switch and trying to solder it but i can't find the right way to do it...
I did that same to a resistor and it works pretty fine.
If I dessolder the positive side of the diode it works pretty fine!  But when i try it w/ the switch,there is just no sound coming out  :icon_sad:
The switch only works in the 'on' side...

I'm trying to mod my Proco Rat.
Sorry if I'm in the wrong area or if i used any wrong term! I'm new in electronics   :icon_redface:

The middle lug is always connected. When the toggle is switched up, the middle lug connects to the bottom lug. When the toggle is moved down, the middle lug connects to the top lug. If you have a multimeter, test the lugs to see which lugs are connected to get an understanding of how it works. If you don't have one, you should probably get one, because they're indispensible.

How you connect the diode itself depends on what you're trying to do. Think about what the switch is doing to the signal and it shouldn't be too hard to figure out.

It's also possible that you damaged the switch if it's only working on one side.

Thanks! So for a diode I should use the dpdt right? I was trying to do it with the spdt..

You can use any of the switches SPST, SPDT, DPDT, 3PDT, just use one set of lugs. Just connect 2 of the lugs as shown above.

But in this case, whats the difference between those switches?

Single = one diode
Double = up to 2 diodes
Triple = up to 3 diodes
