So im ordering the last couple parts for a project i will be trying to assemble and i was wondering if i can buy a 5k linear pot and it will be the same or if i have to use a 10k and turn it into a 5k by attaching something to it? Also i know "do i have to use a 10k and turn it into a 5k by attaching something to it?" is very vague so if you know that process it would be much appreciated if you could explain it to me if not i know i can re find it.

Thanks for the time and help

Sorry to double post but also where is a good place to purchase 3pdt push switches, and if they carry pots also that would help (cant find the switch at fry's and if im going to order online would like to warp up the parts list and pay 1 shipping.)

You can buy your 3pdt switches and pots from there:

I don't understand what you are asking about 5k and 10k pots. You just have to buy the right value for the project that you want to do.
And you said 5k reverse linear in the title... you probably mean reverse log.

a) Every 5k linear pot is "reverse linear", since linear implies just as much resistance on one side of the mid-point as on the other.  Log pots, which have much more resistance on one side of the mid-point than on the other, come in reverse taper, but a reverse linear is a non-existent beast.  If you feel you need to get a reverse-something 5k pot then you want reverse log.  5k pots are not the sort of value you'll find at Radio Shack, but they are common enough.

b) The only thing I know of that might use a reverse-log 5k pot is one of the various BS170-based boosters.  Should we assume it's that?

c) There are other places, but a large majority here would encourage you to source from either the webmaster of the site - Aron Nelson (for switches) - or from Small Bear Electronics.  I suppose you could probably find a slightly cheaper price on either of those items somewhere, but SBE will have all the stuff you want in one place.  Steve has been serving this community for a decade, if not longer.
