can anybody point me at some good diy oriented resources for one of these things?

diggit...a friend has one that went thru a flood several years ago, and tho he said it works somewhat, is damaged...

not worth fixing to him due to expense, but i'm just insane enough to take it off his hands. the deal is, if i can affordably repair it for him, he gets it back fixed, and i can buy more
parts. ;)

if it's too big, it's mine...i don't mind having to take a couple years to try and restore it...figure a little resource here and there until it's done i can probably afford.

any advice appreciated! thanks boys and gorillaz

i plugged her in real quick, i have white and pink noise and adsr and filters, but no oscillators.

i wanna read before i open her up. if i can fix her, i want to keep her...i really regret trading my micromoog off for a cybertwin (tho i really dig the cyber)

respect!! ;)

Mark Hammer

I watched the documentary by Hans Fjellstad on Bob Moog last week.  Interesting flick with lots of great anecdotes recounted.  One of the cute ones came from Rick Wakeman.

Seems Rick was desirous of a Minimoog, and one of his buddies contacted him and said this British actor he knew ( http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0928349/ ) had bought one and was interested in selling it, half price "because it was broken".  The nature and extent of of the malfunction was not made known to Wakeman, but he figures he can have a go at it.  I mean, for half price, in 1972 dollars (or whenever it was) he wasn't going to turn it down.

Wakeman brings it home, plugs it in, and the thing fires up perfectly.  He tries everything he knows how to do, and still no sign of flaw.  He's not sure how it happened, but he feels a little guilty, so he calls up the actor, lets him know it works fine if he wants it back, and asks what was broken.  The actor replies "Well I could only get it to play one note at a time".   :icon_mrgreen:
