Whisker Biscuit Comes On But Cuts Out Immediately - Solved Thanks!!

So I just wired up a Whisker Biscuit using this scheme http://gaussmarkov.net/wordpress/thoughts/wiring-up-a-1590b/
The effect bypasses fine, no hum or problems but when engaged it comes on for a second, sounds great, then cuts out.  It happens repeatedly, ecery time it's engaged.  What's happening?
