A curiosity: the PCB is designed for 2 transistors, but can I also put just one?

Sorry, I realized I made a typo.
I meant "2 diodes", ie D2 and D3. I was wondering if the pedal can work with just one diode (for example in D2).

Schematic seems to say yes.
So it would affect/"clip" the sinodial (?) Wave form on one half and let the other be untouched at this point in the circuit.
Let your ears decide. I would guess 1+1 or 1+2 would be more interesting to the tone than 1+0 but worth trying. Especially if you are socketing.

Yes, I'll go for sockets as it's a non very common circuit and I can't predict how a certain diode will behave in it.

By the way, I found this interesting topic from a few years ago.

I see different Zener diodes available, 0.5, 1.3, 5W. Which ones should I get?
