Connecting wires with metal plates?

I want to make a some sort of trigger pad, but when I touch the plates that connect wires, there's a lot of noise. This is even with using metal or such to connect them, so do I need a eq filter type of thing or do I need different materials?

I also tried to make the same with solder and tin foil which all work, but they make the noise, and the actual source is quieter than the noise. I guess the same noise comes when you straight connect the aux cords together.

So in the second the metal thing connects the 2 wires together, so audio comes thru. I want to make many of these, so I can play it like a drum pad thing.

EDIT: I thought the desc of this forum was fishy, but I saw other questions here that wasn't about the project (or so I think). Please move this or such.

insulate yourself from the metal you are making the contact with. cover yourself with gaffer tape, just to be sure. this will reduce a great deal of the noise, which is probably mains hum being picked up by the capacitance of your body.

A lot of unshielded wire (I assume) and metal = antenna.

Another issue is that you're basically designing a switch. Even store bought switches can inherently be noisy. You could have some switch bounce or other unwanted things happening too.

One option: buy a cheapo used "Rock Band" or "Guitar Hero" drum kit and hack the pads so you can use them as switches. Find the wires that come out of each pad and disconnect them from the circuit board. Connect shielded cables as close to the pads as possible. Only attach the shield to the ground of your circuit. Leave the shield's end at the pad disconnected.

Don't touch low-level signals with your finger. You get hum/buzz.

You want a rig where you touch something else which touches the signals. A door-bell button will do the job. There's even better ways.
