radio frequency interference on a Fuzz Face

Roger Mayer has stated that germanium fuzz face circuits don't pick up RFI, but some online posts have stated that they do.  So, which is it? I have heard RFI with the ZVex Fuzz Factory, though maybe that's because the first gain stage is silicon...

1k/470p filter at the input should do it si or Ge.

hook up a long piece of uninsulated wire to the input of the fuzz, like an antenna! 
i usually get spanish/latin music,
id love to know if im getting local radio, or far away signals...
