Watching that new EHX pedal called the 8 step program, that controls a small sequence when pluged into teh expression of some pedals got me thinking, could a voltage control be implemented on the UGLYFACE?

thank you!

You  could probably apply externa CV by tapping the CV into the LED side of the onboard vactrol or whatever optocoupler you used. It would be slightly complex to make this switchable between envelope and external voltage, but it would be easy enough to do them in parallel. In this case if you wanted external-CV-only, you'd turn down the envelope sensitivity. You could also probably have the opto responding to both external CV and the internal envelope - though this might sound pretty weird in a circuit that is already chaotic and fuzzy.

Take care though that you put a resistor between your external CV input and your opto so you don't cook it with a hot control voltage. Maybe check the 8 Step Program to see what the highest voltage output is. Also, depending on the opto you may need to use a pot or trimpot to attenuate the CV to be a useful level. I usually use 10k pot when I need to attenuate a CV input to opto mod.

Thanks, for your answer,

The clock in is 0-5v, what do you think?

once again thank you!

i know this threds a little old but i was also wondering about adding cv's to uglyface. is the voltage 0-5v ??

chemosis

look at brideschamber vc resistor or synthrotk vac pak. i believe these will work
