Hey all... I've been working on posting more of my demo vids... this one is my octavia clone... I have another with the body mod and all that but this one is stock.

Thanks to everyone on that contributes here... Digging through the search results and applying the knowledge yields great stompboxes.

Anyway.. here's the video... please share your videos too!

That actually sounds quite nice, I generally don't dig the Tyco octavia sound.

What schematic did you use? What parts?

Thanks!

I used the updated analogguru schematic but I flipped the electros and built it negative ground.

I used the standard mouser 42tm022 that everyone uses for the transformer.

For q1 I used a 200ish hfe 2n1305 germanium which is not the normal thing for this circuit... but I like it... the original mpsa18 is normally a much higher hfe.

For q2/q3 I used 2n5088... I went through a bunch of them before it sounded 'perfect' to me and I don't remember the gains... I'll have to crack open the pedal and check the info card that I left inside of it to find out the exact gains but that will have to happen another time because it's loaded up for the gig so I can't get to it without unloading my amp lol.

I used 220uf on q3e... i see people putting 100uf there but from my research 220uf seemed to be what was in the original units... I don't know if it actually makes a difference but this is my 2nd octavia and I like it better than the first so maybe that's part of the magic.

For the fuzz control I used a 2k because of Mark Hammer's posts but honestly I never set it below the half way point (which gives the stock 1k) and on the video I treat the half way point as "all the way down". I will eventually update the unit with the stock 1k value but I haven't had time and it works fine as is.

That sounds great, and the interesting way you are using it. Got me interested  :icon_mrgreen: so if you would be so kind to stick a schematics here, thx

Nice demo, well done. Sounds nice.

Thanks John, that means a lot coming from a guy who has contributed to hundreds of fuzz related topics!
