Purple Plexi 800 clone sounds like a fuzz on Fender ultimate chorus amp

Hi, I built a purple plexi 800 clone for a friend. I tested it on about three different amps and it sounded like it should. However, on my friend's Fender ultimate chorus amp it sounds like a fuzz.  Is this problem possible to fix?

Yeah, just redo all the preamp and power sections in tube form...

Seriously, now, maybe the pedal is just running the preamp too hot.

Which what I was thinking. Solid state amps don't always respond well to hot signals (it is a solid state design right?). See what happens if you lower the gain down to zero-ish and keep level at unity. Does it sound like a normal guitar then?
