So the Distortion Feedbacker is a DS1 with additional bits and pieces that changes the sound of the distortion (foolish liars say they sound the same! THEY DOOOO NOTTTT) and ads the feedback feature when you hold down the pedal.....well is it possible to build a pedal that you can put before or after a DS1 with all the extra parts so it sounds like a DF2???? or are all the extras and different places in the Ds1 circuit. I don't care about the feedback feature...I just love that distortion!

If you look at the schematics for the two pedals the distortion parts are pretty similar.

There's a couple of component value differences around Q2 on both of them, the clipping diodes, tone and volume controls are almost identical.
The main difference is the type of opamp used for IC1 and the configuration of the opamp, this is presumably what gives the two pedals their different tones. You could possibly mod an SD-1 to be like a DF-2 but it would probably be easier to just build the distortion part of the DF-2. I can draw up a schematic if you like.

Thanks so much for the offer. I think I'd need to sharpen my skills before attempting to do a layout from a schematic. Also, making sure I have all the parts before attempting something would be the smart way to go. I knew there was something different about diodes in this since it doesn't take the regular (most common) boss power supply. I etch my own boards so it really is something I could possibly manage to build but I think I'm going to stick to the simpler projects for the time being before I attack this beast!
I was just thinking if it was possibly something that could be put before or after a DS1 to change it...how would it behave with other distortions? Wishful thinking on my part. Thanks so much for responding!
