Bass balls squawk

I've just finished building an Electro Harmonix Bass balls clone on perfboard. I'm fairly sure my layout is correct, as the filters sweep, the fuzz switch fuzzes and so on.

The trouble is at the end of the sweep I get a weird bird like squawk.

Any ideas what might cause this? Thanks!
