Fuzz Face + BMP tone stack issues

So I have an AMZ mos-face circuit (which I chuffing love) and recently decided to add a BMP tone stack to it which has resulted in some issues

-first of all, I tried mos-face>BMP recovery stage>BMP tone stack. This was wired to a bypass switch as if the recovery stage and tone stack was a seperate pedal. This, desepite being kinda backwards, worked just fine (except there was little volume boost when the tone bypass was engaged, as a gain stage was also bypassed)

-next draft was mos-face>tone stack>recovery stage, with only the tone stack in the bypass loop. With the tone stack disengaged, it worked fine, with it engaged, there was barely any output. Tried troubleshooting the stack, replacing every component in it, no improvement.

-Figured it was because I wired it all on the pot and went about making a PCB version of the entire project. Tone bypass circuit did nothing, it sounded like it was always bypassed

I guess the obvious answer is to go back to the first draft, but can anyone shed some light on what might be going wrong here?
