I'm trying to find some info on the 1S34 diode.  I believe its germanium.  I have a couple but I don't have a means to test the forward voltage.  Anyone know?

Considering all diodes obey to Schokley equation, what counts in current ten-fold proportionality is IS (reverse bias saturation current) order of magnitude..
(it should be good to know for what forward bias current Ge & Si voltage drops are equal..)

The Is term in the Schottky diode equation isn't constant.   

This classic paper fills in a lot of the missing details. Mainly equations (1) to (5).

Spice knows about the T^3 term in equation (3).

If you try to derive the VBE or VD temperature coefficient for a transistor or diode you need all those details to get the well known -2mV/deg C.
