On the lunch menu today at the cafe...

Never ever thought I would have one sitting on my bench. Guess there's something to be said for "good mojo".

Got lots more pics in the kitchen, if anyone is interested.  :icon_cool:

Well, I must admit, the clone is dead on. But, I must add that this original is operating on one of my custom rolled Vactrols. This pedal came to me in very poor condition. First off, someone had tried replacing the battery clips, but must have not marked what went where. It was not wired correctly, and the two diodes on the power side were fried. The LED/LDR combo was not original in it, rather it was some hacked abomination, which would have never worked in any case, because the LED was soldered in backwards. Also, the input gain pot was a 50K, which was not original, so I installed a proper A1M.

I basically had to start from scratch here, going from the power and input, to the output, troubleshooting along the way. Someone had really massacred this poor beasty. I was lucky to find an exact CTS 250K trimmer to replace the original 3K (to work with my Vactrol), and I also added a 500K trimmer to balance the DOWN mode against the UP mode. The 500K fit nicely into the holes where the two original voltage divider resistors used to reside. The two 510K resistors you see on the underside are to fake the 500K into a 330K. I hid them underneath, thus giving the trimmer above a bit more authentic look.

The total irony in this story, is the fact that this puppy was on Ebay, and I was hoping to win it. It was stuck at $78 until the last moments, at which point I started bidding. It turned into a war, which I conceded at around $250, but the pedal ended up selling for almost double that.
Fast forward about a week, I get a message on my Youtube account (via my Muttroxx video) that someone has a recently purchased Foxx Guitar Synth that needs repair. They've seen my video, and would I be interested in repairing it. Sure enough, it's the same pedal I was bidding on.

It IS a small world, after all. Here is a quick demo of the original;
