Sample/Hold not working on Tonepad FSH-1

I built the Tonepad Filter Sample/Hold (FSH-1) and it's pretty great sounding except the sample/hold feature doesn't do anything. It seems like a lot of people have had that problem but I haven't found any good resources on how to troubleshoot. I've checked for solder bridges, solid connections, and all the usual stuff; what's next?

did you check the build reports at the tonepad site?..make sure the switch wiring is correct..what transistor are you using? if it is socketed you can easily swap it out..
