Good luck Jimi I hope ya get it.

Ebay can be bad for me. I have the app on my phone and tablet. Always getting reminders that a watched item is getting near. Bidding on stuff in bed when I'm exhausted and shouldnt be spending money I dont have... bad stuff this internet can do to us. But I just picked up 35 feet of vintage cloth covered wire for $3.50 I'm planning on using to build a Superfly submini tube amp :D

Dino that Rack rig you have IS THE BEEZ KNEEZ! Wow ! The only rack stuff I have is for the PA and its all just stacked on each other on top of a work table I built into the wall. I gotta get or build something for em soon.

Those tables that pop out on that are a great idea could put a few mixing boards on em! Maybe some snacks during a break :D

Couldnt help but laugh.  Last night my phone was flashing, green led = notification (its always ebay related).  me: "Im not going to look at the phone!  I'm going back to sleep".  Lied there for about an hour, fighting with my curosity..."OOOK!  Ok!...."

Gotta leave the phone somewhere else at night...

God I love it. Not having stuff in boxes anymore is really what it's all about. Now I can have everything right where I can use it.

Geez, it's too bad you're not nearby. I have my old 12U studio unit, and I would give it to you if I could. It's homemade, but super solid. Screwed and glued joints all around, casters and handles. Needs to find a home. Here's a pic of it, back at the old house;

If anybody in or around the West Island of Monteal needs it, PM me. Pick up only.

generally, broken vintage effects almost always sell for at least half of their fully functioning value. the last foxx fuzz wah ebay sale i recall was nearly 4 bills.

there are exceptions to the above rule, but they are rare. lots of bonepickers scrounging ebay now.
my life is a tribute to the the great men and women who held this country together when the world was in trouble. my debt cannot be repaid, but i will do my best.

hi joe,
yah, i figured it would go high...to me? not worth it. like i said i could build a couple for what i'd be willing to pay for it.
i come across a lot of stuff at tag and yard sales... and i'm one of them bone pickers, too. always looking for blown up stuff to play with.

hope your turkey day was good bro! ;)

Hah Yeah she's a brick house. Thats real nice of you , wish we all lived closer for some guitar sessions! would be fun you guys seem like good times. I Used to live in Canada but over on the left coast in BC. Lived there for almost 5 years. Been back stateside for the last 3 years. I traveled a lot up there though went out east was beautiful all over. Now I want a Montreal smoked sammich!

I think I'll buy some rack rails and build myself a box I'll have lots of scrap wood left over from the remodeling im doing at my house. I still gotta build a pedal board Ive actually never used one I just plug em in and throw em on the floor haha.

Sorry you didnt get the foxx Jimi , I love the enclosures on them foxx's ! Good thing you can build one yourself ;) I've been selling off all my manufactured pedals on ebay in the last few years. I sold some older nice pedals for pretty low actually just so I could move em faster and get some dough for parts to build new ones.

QuoteI Used to live in Canada but over on the left coast in BC. Lived there for almost 5 years.

I spent almost 5 years in Victoria, city of the newly wed's, and almost dead's, when I was in the Navy. Couldn't hack the civi life there though, so I moved back home.

If ever you're up to Montreal, let me know, and we'll hit Scharwtz's deli. Or Ben's. Or Chenoy's. Your choice.

The rack I made out of 1/2", one side good, plywood. I used 1" x 1" square pine to reinforce the corners. All the joints are glued and screwed. I used drywall screws, because they go in clean, tend not to split the wood, and it's easy to cover them up after. The best glue IMO is the Bulldog Grip PL100. That stuff is ammmmmaaaaazingly strong, indoors or out.  I had some loose brickwork on my last house, which I set into some PL100. Ten seasons of -30 to +30 weather, and they never budged. I even glued two pieces of wet wood together once to test it. 24 hours later, I tried splitting them, and one of the pieces broke off, leaving a piece of itself still married to the glue, and the other piece.  :icon_eek: Anyway, once your corners are set, like they say in NYC, forget about it! For the rails, I used some scrap aluminium angle that I found at work.

All the dimensions work around the angles. Using a piece of gear, I clamped the two rails to the ears, and then measured the outside distance. I just drew my plan around that measurement, and the depth I wanted. Height is dependant on how many slots you want. There you go, piece of pie. Flat black rust paint, couple of handles, some rubber casters, and you're all set. Made mine in an afternoon. Just make sure to cut a piece of rubber tubing, and tape or tye wrap it to the handles, or else they'll rattle terribley if the speakers are nearby at high volumes.

HOLY SMOKES!!  :icon_eek:

I just scored a DMC MX-8 on Ebay.... for $85! This is gonna be SWEET! I'll be able to run just one FCB1010 on the board now, instead of two.

Also managed to find a Windows editor for it as well.

I'm off to high 5 something now.

Holy Bassballs Batman... $20?!? Shipped too! That's a give away man. Nice.

The MX-8 is a 6 in, 8 out, programmable MIDI patchbay/router/merger/filter. Basically, I can program all my patch changes for all my MIDI gear into it, and fire it by sending just one command from my FCB1010 to do my patch changes. The real problem was that I could only send a max of 5 different channels with one button on the 1010. That meant that when I had more than 5 changes to make, I had to tap dance between two controllers. Now, I'll be able to send one command from the 1010, and the MX-8 will handle all the patch changes. That, combined with the mapping capabillty of the my three AM-16's, I'll be able to configure my rigs audio chain any way I want, at the touch of a button. Nowadays, the modis operandi is to use a USB/MIDI router, and use a laptop, or netbook, to carry all the patch info/routing software. The foot controller info is sent to the router, and the computer handles the rest. I just didn't want to add another computer to the mix, when a stand-alone unit like the MX-8 is more than capable of meeting my needs. Especially considering that it's considered obselete (although many still use it) now, and they can be had at prices way below the router/laptop option.

That's it, in a nut shell.

Now excuse me, while I go and clean up my drool. :icon_mrgreen:

It was a surprise for me as I thought that as a dutchman we already had the patent on oddball condiments for fries (we cover them in mayonaise).. poutine took it to the next level.  :icon_mrgreen:

i'm a litvak, i live on cholesterol...

but it's weird, cuz i HAVE to, my body doesn't produce it on it's own. i have to take drugs to get it to even register.

my "good" cholesterol is over 100 points lower than my "bad" cholesterol is supposed to be, and my "bad" cholesterol is almost non-existant, so
i have to eat like, butter and mayo and deep fried shit all the time, cuz without cholesterol, my body can't synthesize hormones or use certain vitamins etc,

always knew i'm some mutant. ;)

an os mutante maybe... ;)

speaking of...anyone ever definitively solve that stuff? what "was" the os mutantes fuzz? i found a few things surfing the wayback that look interesting...

for 20 bux shipped? hell, i'll buy anything for 20 bux. ;)

and i know someone i can trade it to for a vintage sekova/seiwa analog delay. ;)

Re OS Mutantes

Apart from the thread here (http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=95712.0) I haven't seen much. There was something over on the DAM forum and I think John Lyons and, maybe, Jerms have production models.

Dino - I was wondering what kind of music you play with the Effectageddon rig you've created.  I mean, I'm not sure I wanna hear it, but I'm interested in knowing what it is.

It's mostly keyboard/synth driven, while I surf underneath, over top, where ever. I'm all about (God I hate the term now) the "Wall of Sound". My rig runs in stereo, and I like to split tones left and right. Sometimes there's some panning, different treatments of the same tone between sides, or even analog on one side/guitar synth on the other. I like to have everything available on the fly. Also, a lot of it is sync'd to MIDI clock, which means that anything that's modulated can run either off the Ableton clock, or tap tempo. That's what the Mangler is primarily for, since it can receive as well as send the clock to everything.

In the end, lots of layering, requires lots of layers. When I'm developing a sound, or tone, I have a lot at my finger tips. I tend to always use a tiny bit of each piece to paint the canvas, rather than throw the can at it. It's very, very rare that I'm able to say "Yup, just this one box will do it". It's always a pinch of this, with a dash of that, etc. And once it's dialed in, I program the controller for the newly created patch, and then I can call it up anytime.
