Ampeg Scrambler sustain

Hi !!!

I wanted to know how to improve sustain on Ampeg Scrambler before building mine : i love this sound  

I already made a Fuzz Factory, but it lacks "ringer" and octave to compete with the Scrambler  

This is what this guy obtained by modifying the Scrambler design (it is called Ampegg) :

This is the ultimate sustain from a fuzz, with the killing Scrambler sound  
I wish he can (and want) to answer my mail about design modifications

I searched on this forum, and i already found two ways : changing diodes to clip less abruptly  and putting a distortion like Distortion + before the Scrambler to "compress" the sound

Any other idea on the design itself (like modifying gain stages...) ?
