Heres the deal.
From a previous post a kind soul pointed out this pedal which looks intresting.

some of the parts are however hard to get or expensive
What could be possible more easily available substitutes

CD4069ube i can get at Tayda. (best pricing i've seen)
transistor 2N3819
( I read in a search MPF102 might be a possible replacement for this now defunct part) opinions or alternative suggestions welcome.

TL051
could a TL072 replace this part if not then again suggestions are welcome please.

Heres a link to some stuff about this build .

Another question.
Are these cmos chip a feature of modern type non clipping distortion build?

Anybody got some other ideas for builds that come close to this sort of sounds?

I'm thinking about the same pedal after seeing that recommendation on the other thread.

You'd want a 051, 061, 071, or 081

The 072 is a dual op amp

You need a single

Another cmos type pedal is the double d from ROG, which I believe had two channels.

Also I don't injure if your still just veroboarding or if you etch now also but the mad bean forum has pcb layout

I have just had a quick search and all three components you listed are easily available and cheap ??

Here in England
TL051               £0.49
CD4069UBE       £0.15
there available from RS components

2N3819             £0.99

Please at least have 1 forum post before sending me a PM demanding something.

wow, the Vgs of the 2n3819 is specified as 0V5 to 7V5. that covers the bf245A, B and C! looks like just about anything will go in there, though they'll all sound different, probably. you know what that means, kipper .....

the 4069 can be replaced with a 4049UB or UBE, or a 4007, which will require some thought. watch your pinouts.

You can get most parts here:

- The 2n3819 is just used as a clipping diode - try any other JFET or whatever you like

- The TL051 can be replaced by any similar SINGLE opamp, like TL071 etc. The TL072 is a dual opamp with a different pinout. I used the OPA134, and my built sounds exactly like the original pedal. (I retraced the Stone Grey and compared it with my clone side by side...)
