I have 2 pedals on my board that I want to turn on at the same time for live situations. There just isn't enough time to turn each on/off individually. Without buying an expensive switching system, is there an easy DIY way to do this?

The simplest way is to build a bypass box with a simple stomp switch.

So you would not really turn them on or off....just bypass them.

if they both have electronic switching like boss pedals, you could drill each for an 1/8 inch jack connected to the momentary in the pedals and run both to a single momentary switch outside... should turn em both on and off or on/off off/on... i think mark hammer brought this up somewhere.

Put the pedals right next to each other and buy some big shoes :D

Though I think you would need some diodes to route the switching logic, because otherwise, by connecting to two together, the original footswitches would also always toggle both circuits whenever you pressed them, which would put you in a tricky situation depending on the state they're in when you apply power to your pedalboard

if you want 'em idependent you just unplug 'em from the 1/8th inch jacks...

if they're in opposite states- just unplug one ,switch its state, then re-plug it into the dual switcher.
its a simple solution and easy to implement, but it does rely on the pedals' own internal electronic switching to work.
but as long as both pedals have electronic switching, as most non-diy pedals do, it only requires drilling a small hole and wiring a small jack to each pedal, wiring it in parallel with the existing momentary, then one separate momentary with a jack and 3 mono 1/8 plugs wired as 2 separate 1/8 cables wired in parallel to the 3rd jack.
-pretty easy to implement and reverse as well.

I think the Beavis site will help me with this one. The two pedals I want together are the DOD Big Pig Fat distortion and the Onxy: http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=99943.msg877533#msg877533

There is just something about how those two sound together...

the simplest way is to put the boxes next to each other and put a wooden plank on top of the switches
always think outside the box
