I'm planning to build a tiny giant amp. The plans say you need to place heat sinks on the ICs. Can I make them out of household materials, or do I need to purchase some? Here are the ICs used in the project. Thanks.
1 – TDA7240A
1 – LM338T
1 – TL072

The TL072 doesn't need a heatsink. The easiest thing to do if you're putting it in a metal case is to bolt the other two to the case, that will act as a heatsink. The kit comes with bolts and insulating washers to allow you to do this.

Doesn't matter what you did to get it... If it sounds good, then it is good!

Cool, thanks. That was a super easy solution.

Just to emphasize what jok3rx said, be sure you use the insulator on the LM338T because the tab is connected to the +V out.

The TDA7240A's tab is connected to ground, so you should be able to connect it to the case directly.
