When i first got the Memoy Boy it was working fine, had a quite short delay time but no distortion or artefacts. I found out that by plugging in a jack in the expression pedal i could get much longer times, although distorted.

That was fine by me. But then it started showing the same long delay times and distortion even without the jack plugged. I assume some trim pot may have drifted as i never actually connected anything to the expression pedal, only an empty jack. So i tried to see if i could tinker with some of the trim pots and fine tune the delay. WRONG!! Messed the thing up completely!

I did not really know what i was doing as i have no experience with BBD's. I got it to produce some sound again but can't get rid of the distortion on longer dealy times.

Does any one know an easy way to calibrate the BBD's? What i would be aiming for. Note: I have no oscilloscope at hand ...

I have a friend that has one that works fine with a battery but sounds like crap (distorted echoes) with a power supply.  Even if it's the only thing on the power supply, multiple power supplies.  It used to work fine on a 1spot daisy chain, but something changed.

Of course, he is 900 miles away, so I haven't seen inside it yet, but we went through a pretty extensive troubleshooting session over the phone.  I don't get it.
