Hi all,

I can't believe it's been 9 years since I've been here and the same amount of time since I've built anything. I've forgotten so much and feel like a noob again.
I remember the excitement of Charlie discovering dark t-shirt transfer paper and finishing many boxes with that. Do we still use that? I remember going to GGG, runoff groove and Tonepad daily it seemed hoping there was a new project. So glad to see there still here. Also so many names that are familiar is still posting here.

Anyway, it's good to be back. I've got the itch again and been pouring through layouts.

I have a quick question. I'm going to help somebody build their first stompbox. They want to build a fuzz box. I want it to be easy and was thinking about silicon transistors. Any suggestions?

Thanks guys,
Bill

Welcome back I guess or maybe nice to meet you is probably more appropriate.

It seems most people use waterslide decals these days. You can get them at musikding, newtone-online and smallbear probably some more places sell them as well.

For the Fuzz box how about a good old fuzz face? Try doing a search on the miss piggy, its a modification on the normal fuzz face that lets you dial in the gain of each transistor.

I actually found some laser jet waterslide decals at a local pottery store. Strange, but they had it. They use the same waterslides as us DIYers. They even claimed they were able to bake them in a kiln.

Envirotex Lite-Pour-on Medium
Can be applied over paint and glued on or sticky back photos.

I recommend several coats of clear varnish over all of the above except the Envirotex.
