Do you know anywhere that sells round enclosures?

rocinante

Biscuit tins... They need a bit of reinforcement but it can work.. :)

Govmnt_Lacky

Hammond makes octagon enclosures. They even come powder coated!

And in these parts at least... various margarine, yogurt, sour cream etc, tub lids are a perfect fit for the open end.

the $2 shop. dunno what you call them where you are. get yourself some small salad bowls, if you are a glutton for punishment. then start looking for something to cut baseplates from. and think of a way to secure the baseplate. and how to mount pots on curved surfaces .......

pedal buyers love them.

Hardware store. Electrical aisle. "Pancake box".

Can't bust 'em with a boot.

I'm seriously jealous of all those nice cheap metal junction boxes you can get. It's all plastic here.

I actually grabbed one of these from the local grocery store last year.. I need to pull it out of my "future projects" bin and do something with it soon.  It's a little deeper than an Altoid tin.

I've always thought that the small vintage hubcaps that came on old cars would make good round enclosures.  They were steel as far as I know, and quite sturdy, and the graphics would make them very unique.  Anyone ever tried this?.

^ I've seen a couple hub cap fuzzes.

These take some serious work but they came out well I think.
ABS pipe caps. Cut down, recessed, sanded to death...

What are you using for a bottom?

John Lyons

Sheet metal on one and plexiglass on the other.
If you take some of the cutoff pieces (the pipe caps are too tall) and
glue them (with abs glue) to the inside leaving a bit for the thickness of your
bottom plate you get a nice recessed bottom for them.

Any of the canned goods family works well -

I saw a PT2399 digital delay in a film canister once, can't find the link....

I have three canisters I picked up at a garage sale.  At about 1" they aren't very thick, but tons of real estate otherwise....

+1 on the hub caps,

Do a search for Baby Moon Caps on ebay etc. My sister had them on her old '63 Corvair Monza! Would make a perfect fuzzface! I think I might look for one.

back when people were taught panel-beating, their first project was usually a hubcap. I wonder where they all went (the caps, not the beaters).

Years ago people really got into converting small skillets - I think Joe Gagan might have started that...
