Volume/Tone Knobs....

who carries volume and tone knobs that are reasonably priced and marked "vol" and "tone" like the ones on my guitar. I figure that'd save me the pains of trying to hand paint it on my pedals. I checked both Smallbear and Tayda with no luck.

Not exactly what you were after Canucker but sort of on the same line, i saw Brian upload this video recently and thought those letter stickers ontop of the knobs looked pretty cool!

Take a look at guitar knobs.  Many of those are marked with tone and vol.  You can buy metal letter stamps and emboss your own plastic knobs with whatever you feel like.  Steer clear of phenolic knobs though.

Also not exactly what you're looking for, but if you mark the knobs yourself and then clear coat them (regular poly), it should hold up for a very long time.

a lot of stuff we do around here is unnecessary. I mean if your amp has built in distortion is a fuzz/overdrive/distortion pedal of any kinda really necessary? LOLOLOL
