Chicken Salad Mod and Rehouse

I found this today in my searching for mods to do during my rehouse.
The caption reads "And by bypassing this 100k resistor you get a vibrato effect! Add an SPDT switch to go between "vibrato & chorus"-mode."
I beleive it should say - And by bypassing this 100k resistor you get a Chorus effect! -
Will this really work?
I was thinking a Mini Toggle SPDT Solder Lug (on-on) switch.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Also, I have a 1k ohm pot and I want it to be 100 ohm.
Would I use a 10k resistor or a 100ohm resistor across the 2 outside posts on the pot?
