12v 1.2A overkill?

This is my first post on the forum... And of course I'll make a good impression by sounding like an idiot lol  :icon_rolleyes:
So I've built a few things before... Started out simple n stuff with wiring guitars and gradually worked my way up.
Anyway, I'm building a low voltage (12v) Tube eq/booster type of preamp (I know about the starved plate debates... I just dont wanna work with 200+ volts yet). Of course I've done my research, and I have the schematic already made up but I think I might need a different adapter. Would 12v at 1500mA be a little overkill for 1 or 2 12au7's? I'm assuming so but though I'd ask anyway. I'm pretty sure if I use it it'll climb to like 15V because of a insufficient load... Just a guesstimation
Thanks guys

I guess that would be fine.  I use a 12V 1000mA for my valvecaster.
Make sure its regulated though then it shouldn't go above the specified voltage.
I like Big Muffs! and I cannot lie, you other brothers can't deny...

Thanks man, I appreciate it. Now I know I won't be wasting parts!

Heaters for two tubes will probably load down a 1500mA supply enough to take it close to 12v.

yep...datasheet says 300mA each  :)
