2N5458 wrong transistors

I bought the wrong transistors for my tonepad Callate noise gate.
It has a 2N5485 i bought the wrong ones.

Has anyone got something that needs the transistors i bought (ie 2N5458) that i can build?

Looks like it's sometimes used for Phase 45 builds.

I bought the    4558 and i needed the 4585.
At no point in the article about the noise gate does it mention the 4558 mate.

The other articles a possible project i guess.

Ah crap, you're right!  Looks like you're not the only one able to accidentally invert those digits!

kipper, you have 2N5458, right? this is similar to the 2N5457, but in the higher gate V range. they have nice big Idss, so low channel resistance. have a look at the tremface over at geo. I don't know why no-one seems to build this circuit. they should work in most shunt type compressors like a squeezer, maybe, depending on yr gate voltages.

I've just discovered these are also in the proco rat too the 5458 that is

if you look at a few phase 45 circuits, you might also see them used.
