If you don't use a floating trem then...well....go get one damn-it!
Doesn't matter what you did to get it... If it sounds good, then it is good!

Beautiful, I have an rg-470. Probably going to do this. Thanks for posting!

I see drilling a hole and putting a lock on the wammy bar until you learn how to actually play guitar! ;D
I just designed a new fuzz circuit! It almost sounds a little different than the last fifty fuzz circuits I designed! ;)

Looks more like a cheap alternative then genius.
Those things are not even needed.
Take the trem springs off, insert a wood shim between the trem foot front and the guitar to keep the trem at desired level.
Put back the springs and tight the claw screws to the max. Thats it. Trem is locked. You paid nothing more and there is nothing you added (like a door latch) that could be a potential source of vibration.

If you want the trem back ........ just reverse the process.

Guitar repair and lutherie is a profession of techniques and skills. There are to much butchers out there.
Most REAL repair techniques are good sensed and effective.

Google can be your friend but it can also be your foe! Seach google for real lutherie solutions.

Just look at the way the saddles are repaired! Come on at lease get the client the same looking bolts!

I've looked at other repairs....like the acoustic bass. Filling down into to the bridge itself! Instead of fixing the real problem (angle of the neck and/or the nut). Come on!

Just my 5 cents. (I'm Canadian, so 5 cents is the lowest we can go now!)

Relax man, even the guy who made it doesn't take himself too seriously. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't do this to a colectible. Not absolutely sure, though... :icon_lol:

Agreed. There's also a lot of hot air out there.

That's ok, maybe it's because I'm Rastafarian... but I don't get your comments?  Now, I have to go and call a carpenter! I was thinking of hanging a picture on my wall and I googled "picture hanging techniques" but now I am confused so, I figured I better get a pro! I mean, what if I can't find a stud and I make 100 holes trying to hit wood? better to just leave it to the experts wouldn't you say...? After that I am gonna take my guitar to the shop so they can string it up proper for me cause what if I put'em on backwards and plus have you ever tried to re-float a floating trem??? Geesh, now that's a real pain in the @ss! Maybe I should just ask the luthier to just take those damn vibrating springs out and shove a block of wood in there? Anyway....Then I have to get to my smart@ss training class, I have about 5 students counting on me to teach them the fine art of smartassery... wouldn't want to disappoint :icon_mrgreen: busy busy busy! puff puff pass...
