So a while a go i bought a digitech hardwire tl-2 metal distortion, which for the money was alright. but i left it plug in while i went out and when i got back it was fried. lol. and it would cost more than i payed for it to fix. i was just wondering if i could use some of the parts i.e. like the knobs, for my diy pedal?

It may seem obvious, but you can technically use everything accept what you burned out. build another distortion and put it in the enclosure would be a good start
always think outside the box

Thanks man. It will proably be the last pedal ill buy if building pedals is addicting as diy guitars.

I'd sell it for spares/repairs, sure someone can fix it, don't think that particular model is digital and even if it is, nothing to say the heart of the circuit is dead.

That way someone (possibly) gets a working pedal on the cheap and you get the cash to buy your self some new parts.
