hi guys, got one of these in today,
it's got a weird issue...

the treadle wahs TWICE thru it's sweep!!

it's weird, from bass to half way, it wahs one way, and from there to full, it sounds like a crybaby...

since there's no pot, i don't know how it can do this?!?!?

any thoughts?

thanks!

Might be something as simple as the tape holding the black "shade" (or whatever they call it) in place is loose and creating a weird sweep.
Love those old Tel-Rays... :icon_cool:

dead bugs....yech!!

the problem, just as OSA thought:

yuck...fulla dead bugs and beetles...

dissassembled:

fixed:

photoresistors heel down

photoresistors toe down

finished!!!

sounds great...tho when it was broken, it had a really cool sound, and a LOT more treble...
this is the warmest sounding morley i ever played thru!!

fwiw, these old tel ray morleys are hands down better sounding than the modern ones in my opinion...

appreciate the help bro!!! ;)

I picked up a busted Power Wah-Volume from the same series last year and "refreshed" it.  I also installed a Muff Fuzz with an additional stompswitch by the toe so it could be a fuzz-wah.  Nice pedals.

Just a tip: a guy I met at a gear show the other week mentioned that the old MOrleys use the same bulbs as found in instrument panels for small aircraft like CEssnas.  So if your bulb ever craps out, go to an aircraft supply place.

old-school hardware stores often have them, too. and amp pilot lights, i think they're # 47 if memory serves..
