GGG Rodent (Rat clone). A few bugs

Just built the GGG Rat clone.  I used their PCB layout and schematic.  The only change I made was to the "filter" pot.  I used linear instead of log and wired it backward to give it a tone knob feel.

When I engage the pedal, there's a significant volume drop.  The only time the on/bypass signal is equal is when the volume is turned to 4 o'clock - almost maxed!  I'm not sure what would cause that, or if it's a characteristic of the pedal.

The other issue is the gain knob, which could just be a characteristic of the pedal.  It cleans up pretty well when turned down, then gets super dirty by about 11 o'clock.  Anything past noon on the gain knob doesn't change the distortion amount much, but just makes it sound more compressed and synthy.  Is this normal for Rats?

Comments from other GGG Rodent builders would be very helpful!  Are these normal characteristics of the pedal or is something going wrong?  Thank you!

Ouch, looks like my reply got eaten.   In short - go to the "What to do when it doesn't work" thread, and do what it says there. Then we can help!  :o)
