Hi guys,
I built the crunch box with this layout: http://rapidriotboxes.blogspot.it/2009/02/crunchbox-v2-project.html

Here is the schematic:

Here are also pictures of the top and the bottom of the PCB.

I just can't get it to work. No sound is coming out of it! I havent' wired it yet, so I'm using a testing box to test it - I wired only the pots.
Voltage readings: 0 V on all the pins! I checked the power and I get a reading of 9V. With the audio probe, I stopped at the pin 3 of the IC - possibly some cold joints on the ic socket?
Components orientation is ok, I checked it.
Any hint?

I forgot to mention that instead of an internal trimpot I used an external pot, with the upper pad on the left (of the trimpot pads) being the number 3 lug, the upper right pad being the number 1 lug and the bottom pad being number 2 lug.

I was wondering if that 1N4001 is placed the right way - as shown in the layout, the 9v input is connected to the cathode, instead of the anode - shouldn't it be the contrary?

I changed the orientation of the 1n4001 diode and now it's working, but it's very very noisy, I can barely hear the sound of the guitar. I used an audio probe ad that noise starts right at the input, so I think it can depend on the fact that it's not in a box yet. What do you think?

SISKO

Check that the noise isnt coming from other sources other than the CB (malfunctioning cables)
What type of power supply are you using? Use a battery if you can for testing.

If those two points are checked, proceed to check you wiring *very* carefully. Dont rush when doing this.

Post pictures of your wiring

Actually I redid some solders which wasn't very good, and now it works perfectly! I love that pedal!
Don't know why but it seems like I'm not really good at soldering, I need to learn how to solder properly!
