Just wondering what the basis of this pedal is? My intuition says it's a tube screamer with a boost switch. If that's the case what exactly does the boost switch do (in terms of altering the circuitry)? A link to a schematic for this pedal or posting a partial schem of the boost would be much appreciated.

analogman rekons it's a straight ts9 copy, and I didn't read any further.

reading other things, there is a ts9 board here
http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=103878.0

which has the same part # as the maxon shown here

but with lots of parts missing.

I don't know what this means.

The missing parts are the electronic bypass switching. Maxon used mechanical switches instead.
Sorry that doesn't help with the original question.

I worked out the bypass part, but meant I don't know the significance of them being on the same board.

Sorry misunderstood you there, if I remember correctly the original OD9 was a TS9 in Maxon clothing.

This is what Maxon say the pro plus version is http://www.maxonfx.com/Nine_OD9Plus.php sounds like quite a long way from a Tube Screamer.
