I knew I had seen it somewhere else but I couldn't remember where.

here are some other angles:

-wiring is (marginally) cheaper than more PCB/vero/perf.
-wiring means you can get away with being bad at drilling.
-wiring gives you better access to a 3rd dimension of enclosure positioning.

having said all that, i don't have as much prejudice against board-mounted pots as i did before i got into DIY. i've tried it once or twice on experiments and felt as though with enough other adherence to the enclosure, it probably would hold just fine in the long-term. even jacks - although i'd be less inclined to mount those. my SS practise amp (and many a stompbox) are flimsy as hell, in most cases the actual board seems to be moving even if very slightly. my Crybaby, however, is firmly wedged into the enclosure as well as bolted and screwed, so i have a lot more faith in that.

Usually I wire everything I can that's not connected to the board first (jacks, switch, led, pot connections that go to ground\input\output\switches, etc.) and then I connect all the wires that go to the board but only the other sides that aren't connected to the board.
and after it's done i put my board facing down and connect wire by wire and then flip the board over and stick it to its place.
The key for this method is design your layout with all connections on one side of the board. I prefer top side.

This is the first pedal I've made. Look how bad the wiring looks:

and this is a Colorsound Overdriver I made two weeks ago. I always like to get to this point before connecting the board. It lets you check if all of your wires are at the right length. After you do this it's really easy to connect the board and make it look good.

Very nice, Ofek!  I appreciate your method- looks great. I will say that it is nice to hear the entire circuit working before boxing up.
