2n3011

i somehow ended up with 2 of these and had em in a fuzz face circuit and they sounded really cool/weird.  i used it for a band i played for a while back but its sounded so weird it wasn't really usable.  so i'm just gonna slap some bc108s in there. 

anyone know of any builds that call for the 2n3011 transistors? hate to see em just sitting around

Seems like it's a low hfe silicon NPN BJT. Nothing particularly special about it.

no circuits that specifically call for it?  maybe i'll just throw em in the next circuit that calls for an NPN transistor and see how they sound

Measure the hFe on them.

You might find one in Q1 of a Fuzz Face and a higher gain (Such as the BC108) in Q2 sounds good.
