hi everyone

i was wondering if anyone had ever tried to disassemble the LED display on a boss tu-2.
i need to change a few of them and can't seem to find how this can be done, and i don't really want to buy an other one!

thanks

FUZZZZzzzz

from what I know the huge difference between the two (TU2 and TU3) is the display. The Display on the TU3 is better (clearer) even when using it outside in direct sunlight etc.. I never tried to fix one, but the repair service at Roland is very good from my experience.
they stock almost everything so you might want to call them.

I've had a look at mine and the part holding the LEDs is two PCBs held back to back by two multi-pin connectors. It looks like to remove the LEDs you would need to separate the two boards by desoldering both connectors this would give you access to the backs of the LEDs and allow you to remove and replace them.
To separate the boards without destroying them you'd probably need a hot air soldering rig, I wouldn't like to attempt it with just an iron.
