Hi all. I did a search on this stomp box but found nothing recent (most recent post was 2007). I don't know whether my question will be admissible as I am going to come out and be honest and say right now that this is a pedal I am trying to repair, rather than build per se  :icon_redface: I have already paid for a tech to repair it, but it still sounds horrible! I have also left various messages on Brian Mena's website asking for help but he did not reply. Basically I need to know how to correctly adjust the bias controls on the internal trimpots. There is something really weird going on in terms of the interaction with the tone pots....I made the huge mistake of trying to adjust the trimpots by ear when I first got the pedal, trying to increase the gain on the OD channel. This resulted in turning the pedal into a synthesizer rather than a sophisticated Dumble clone  :icon_lol: When I got it back from the tech it was a lot better, but there is still a touch of this strangeness when the treble pot is turned up with the overdrive gain set high (on the OD channel), and the pedal still sounds nothing like it should sound - I am comparing it to an Ethos TLE and an Exotic BB+, which is unfair, but I needed something with a Dumble type overdrive and I really doubt that the Ethos and the Howie are in the same ballpark. I want to sell the Howie, but I won't be able to sell it while it sounds like this. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading this post.
