Hi guys!
I'm new in this forum and i want to say hello and i'm hoping to get some help for my problem.  I'm planning an amp selector based in the BYOC amp selector : http://byocelectronics.com/ampselectorrev1.pdf.

I want to include a phase switch to reverse polarity in 180º  and i have read that a switch can be used to do this. In these thread: http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=50144.0  they speak about reversing polarity at the secondary of the transformer can reverse the phase of the output , so i think that can be done with a switch after the secondary, it's that OK?
In the BYOC schematic and in the Hum-Free(er) A/B/Y Splitter Box with Transformer Isolation schematic from Geofex appears a resistor and a condenser in series between the two secondary leads. First of all can someone teach me about the function of these components? And second, if a use a switch (ie. a DPDT), where it must be placed? before or after that resistor and condenser?

Please help me because i cannot find information about these questions!!

Thanx!

Hello

The RC network is  a simple filter that reduces a resonant peak from the transformer and should be tailored to the model you are using (see data sheet). Or left out if you don´t care. Nothing to do with phase.

Phase reverse is as simple as switching the secondary xformer outputs...
Put it before the grounding switch.

Thank you noisette!! I'll give a try to the switch in that position!!

Transformers, especially over 10K impedance, tend to "ring" at the top of the audio band. The R-C network increases loading at the top of the band, damps the ringing. In *this* case you could probably save a cap, just use a 5K load resistor. (This isn't Hi-Fidelity.)

Thank you Paul, it's pretty clear your schematic. I'll like to learn more about audio electronics because i'm absolutely newbie, would you suggest me a good book or site where to learn for dummies like me?  ;D

Thanks a lot!
