I have an old Maxon made TS-9.I put a bright blue led in it,but I wan't to make the led just a touch brighter.I used my dmm to find the clr resistor. If I'm correct it's the 8.2k res. above the 5 & 6 pads.Is this correct?I looked at some schematic's,and none of them had an 8.2k res.?Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?!

It's buffered bypass, but looking at the schematic the LED should only connect to the power supply through some of the switches on the jacks and on the other side to a resistor. Seems it should be 3k6, but it might be different.

Can you follow the LED and see what resistor it connects to? That would be the easiest way.

I looked at an original schematic, and it is a 3.6k res!You are correct sir! :icon_biggrin:The resistor to change for making the led brighter is in the holes marked; 4&5. I changed mine to 2.2k.Perfect!One weird thing is I have two Maxon Made TS-9's,and they're both have a 3.6k in that spot.I have three Ibanez made TS-9's,including the 30th anniversary, and they're all 8.2k's!w.t.f

They probably had a ton of 8.2K resistors left over from something and needed to get rid of them ;o)

Or, there was a design change in mid-production, and they wanted the LED to be a bit dimmer?
I used to make mine SUPER bright, but got sick of that - you can't see what's going on on the floor if the LEDs are too bright...

The gold plating on your helmet visor is probably wearing out and letting too much starlight through.
