I'm looking to mod a 535q wah to TB and can't find any decent info online anywhere? Anyone down this or have a solid link with helpful info.

According to schematics I have seen, and info on the net....the 535Q IS true bypass.

There may be 2.2M pull down resistors on the (switch) input and output on the earlier versions. The pull downs may have been moved to the proper place (wah circuit in/out) on later versions.

Are you experiencing tone sucking with the wha bypassed? If not....why mess with it?
I just designed a new fuzz circuit! It almost sounds a little different than the last fifty fuzz circuits I designed! ;)

Yeah, this thing is a total tone destroyer. The worst of its kind. Dunlop describes the pedal as "almost true hardwire bypass". Tricky devils. It's my understanding that there are a pair of pull down resistors places directly off the jacks and if so, obviously cause some frequency rolloff. Info is quite elusive for this common little pedal. I don't even use this any longer as it casts such a shitty shadow on my tone.

Well the obvious answer with the lack of info you have found available, would be open the little sucker up and find out.  Post a couple of pics and I'm sure there will be a few people on here able to try and help you out, me included. :)

Please at least have 1 forum post before sending me a PM demanding something.

read the online articles. use a meter. figure it out.
there is no article on every wah made, there have been at least 3 major revisions to the 535Q in 20 years, the internet might never catch up with dunlop.

I lent it to a friend and won't have it back for about a week, when I get it back I plan on popping it open. Thanks ice-9, I'm looking for anyone with experience with this particular pedal, but when it's back I plan on digging in. As far as you Joe; less than helpful to say the least. "Figure i out" is your sage asvice? I've searched the Internet tirelessly, and am not looking for anyone else to figure this out for me. I believe that one of the functions of these forums for Us DIY people is to connect and share info and help without being a dick. It's rare to come across someone as unhelpful as you apparently are but I guess it's inevitable. I was looking for someone with some experience with this particular pedal, and the lack of concise info ands massive amount of misinformation with it is conflicting, hence me reaching out to others. It what typically happens in these forums. Not sure what the motivation is to read and then post in that fashion is, but whatever makes you happy I guess.

Nate77,

This is not a blog or twitter where it is acceptable to use the language and tone you used because you don't like the reply that you were given.

Joe is a very knowledgeable, helpful member.
I don't think that too many people would disagree that he is one of the most knowledgeable persons on the topic of wha pedals.

It took me all of two minutes to find information about different versions, including schematics of the 535Q.

Did you mention which version you have? No.
Did you post any pictures for identification? No.

I believe that Joe gave the proper response. You have to get a meter and find out where the switch connections go.
Then if you can't figure out how to properly bypass the circuit.....this forum can be of some help.

Ok guys, I'm gonna work to put this issue that has somehow gotten way out of hand to bed. The majority of the info online is absolutely incorrect. The majority of peoe seem to believe that this particular pedal is TB, including owners. I haven't had the pedal in my Possession for a week or so and have been thinking of getting rid of it but decided to take a peek at what was necessary to TB it. I've done a dozen other wahs, but as I understand it, these are a bit more complicated. I had the pedal for a week as a gift before lending it out. I haven't seen the inside enough to pay attention to the layout. It was also my impression that these forums are for people of all level of skill and experience, and to be honest, I've always been proud to be part of it and proud of the positive and helpful atmosphere in these forums. If we can got back to my original post, I was just inquiring I anyone had any EXPERIENCE or INFO on the process. Not looking for someone to do it for me or a recap on the obvious process I'll be going through once I get the pedal back. If everyone wasted as much time that we just had when some member of this forum posted a question without pics, readings or other specific information, this place would be useless. Anywho, thanks?
